Sara & Mike’s Summer Wedding
A ‘Rustic Chic’ Lakes Region Wedding With a Touch of Disney Magic
Love was in the air at Cold Spring Farm, Lakes Region wedding venue, this past July as Mike & Sara celebrated their wedding day. Their beautifully curated day was a testament to their love story, their personalities, and their vision for a truly unique and special day.
Both schoolteachers, Sara & Mike, crossed paths during an in-service day that brought their two schools together. A mutual friend played matchmaker, pairing them for a collaborative project. What started as a friendship eventually blossomed into romance, leading to a heartfelt proposal during a family vacation to Disney World in Florida. Under the enchanting glow of post-firework skies on the Peoplemover ride, Mike asked Sara to be his “Happily Ever After.”
With its picturesque mountain views and upscale barn wedding venue space, Cold Spring Farm proved to be the ideal setting for their ‘rustic chic’ vision. The couple was captivated by the farm’s bucolic charm, the convenience of being able to host everything onsite from getting ready to the reception, and the thoughtful layout that lends itself to an easy flow of events through the day.
Sara and Mike’s wedding theme was a delightful blend of “rustic chic” to complement their wedding venue, with a touch of Disney magic drawing inspiration from their engagement under the stars at one of their favorite places.
The overall ambiance reflected their personalities and created a most magical and inviting atmosphere for their guests. The couple leaned into a timeless and simple look for their wedding, allowing the natural beauty of their surroundings to provide the backdrop.
Their table decor was simple yet elegant, and comprised mainly of elements borrowed from Cold Spring Farm’s in-house collection. Tables adorned with a display of floating candles and garlands over navy blue runners created a classic, timeless, and welcoming atmosphere for an intimate dinner with loved ones.
For Sara & Mike, their private first look was the most cherished moment of the day. It was an intimate and emotional exchange that brought the ‘realness’ of the day into focus before the festivities began, allowing them to connect and savor the anticipation of their commitment to each other.
Their advice to future couples
“Communication is key”
Sara & Mike emphasized the importance of communicating clearly, openly, and often during their planning process; not just with each other, but with vendors as well.
“Communication both as a couple and with Sarah and Diane is key. Sarah and Diane are very flexible, and with their support and guidance, it was easy to plan our wedding. Thanks to them, our wedding day was stress-free and went off without a hitch!””
Recommendations
Sara & Mike highly recommend communicating with Diane about how to incorporate the horses at Cold Spring Farm into your wedding day portraits, if interested.
“We were able to have the horses in our photos and even feed them treats provided by the owners, which made for some really cool photos.”
Sara & Mike also recommend the in-house bartending services at Cold Spring Farm, boasting about their experiences with their wedding day bartender, Mariah.
“We highly recommend Mariah! She was fantastic and even surprised us with a delicious custom sangria!”
From getting ready and the first dance, to the incredible buffet, speeches, and send-off, this intimate celebration truly had it all. This day was filled with love and sweet moments from start to finish. Creating a stress-free wedding day starts with hiring a great team to help. We are grateful that Sara and Mike trusted us to be part of the dream team that helped bring this beautiful vision to life.
