Kayleigh & Michael’s Dreamy Barn Wedding
Celebrating a September Wedding at Cold Spring Farm
Kayleigh and Michael’s September wedding at Cold Spring Farm was an exquisite blend of modern elegance and rustic charm. Nestled in the heart of the Lakes Region, this barn wedding was a perfect reflection of their shared love story, characterized by simplicity, warmth, and an undeniable sense of community.
The perfect wedding day decor
Lanterns and candles cast a warm, inviting glow from the dinner tables placed among simple white florals and pumpkins, encapsulating the couple’s vision for an intimate, cozy atmosphere. Their thoughtful, inviting setup was a testament to their unique style and the detailed planning that went into making their day unforgettable.
The pièce de résistance was a handmade donut wall, which became the focal point after dinner. Covered in locally-made cider donuts from Cider Bellies, this creative touch delighted guests and highlighted the couple’s craft skills as well as their support for local businesses. (Which you know we love!)
Though the ceremony was adorned with gray skies, the day ended with the most magical, glowing sunset, almost as warm and bright as these two’s love for each other.
A love story years in the making.
Kayleigh and Michael’s journey began in high school when they were serendipitously placed in the same photography class despite being in different grades. Michael’s cheeky habit of stealing Kayleigh’s candy quickly became a charming excuse to talk to her, sparking a friendship that would soon blossom into a lifelong partnership. Their shared memories and mutual creativity laid the foundation for their relationship.
After high school, life threw them a curveball with a 24-hour deadline to decide on a new home due to a landlord stipulation. This experience bonded them further, as they navigated the challenges of setting up a life together. They supported each other through years of school, jobs, and whatever life brought them. Michael proposed in a moment that mirrored their love story’s spontaneity and beauty - on a Miami beach during the sunrise, with the gentle waves as their witness.
Choosing the perfect New Hampshire wedding venue
When it came time to plan their big day, Kayleigh and Michael knew they wanted to stay close to family, which made a Lakes Region wedding an easy choice. Cold Spring Farm in Alton Bay stood out, not only for its picturesque setting, but also for the warmth and welcome the couple felt upon arrival.
“We loved the idea of a barn wedding (as everyone our age does right now),” the couple shared. “The real deciding factor was how kind Diane and Sarah were right from the start! It definitely gave a “family-owned” feel, and I could not imagine having my wedding anywhere else. This was actually the only place we physically toured! Once we got there, we knew it was THE place for us.”
This decision underscores the importance of choosing a wedding venue and vendors that resonate with your vision and values. The Lakes Region of New Hampshire offers a plethora of options, but the personal touch and genuine care provided by locally owned small businesses can make all the difference.
Memorable Moments and Meaningful Vows
Kayleigh and Michael shared that one of the most meaningful moments of their wedding day was their private vow exchange before their guests arrived. This shared private moment allowed them the opportunity to connect before the day’s whirlwind, grounding their commitment in personal words shared away from the crowd.
“Our private vows turned out to be the best part of the day. We still had the wedding day jitters, but the vows took so much of the pressure off and allowed the day to be more about fun.”
Crafting a Unique Celebration
As creatives and crafters, Kayleigh and Michael took advantage of their skills and creativity to personalize their wedding decorations. Using their Cricut machine, they crafted custom pieces that not only saved them money but also added personal touches to the celebration. This DIY approach is an excellent way for couples to infuse their personalities into the day, proving that heartfelt details can be both cost-effective and impactful.
Advice from the newlyweds
““Get Sarah as your coordinator.” Also, “Having the Friday before to set up was not in our original plan, but now I could not imagine how we would have done it if we did not.” ”
Kayleigh & Michael’s New Hampshire barn wedding was more than just a celebration of their love; it was a beautiful illustration of how community, creativity, and thoughtful planning can create a truly magical experience. As we reflect on their journey and the memorable day they crafted together, we are left with feeling inspired and blessed to have been part of this beautiful wedding day.
Their story reminds us that while the weather might be gray, there is always a bright side when love is the focal point. We feel blessed to have been part of their journey and to have witnessed the love that surrounds them. However, we are only one part of the team that brings the vision to life! Every successful wedding day has a team of wedding vendors quietly and efficiently running the show, making sure everything goes to plan.
