Cassidy & Dylan’s Early Summer Garden Wedding
A Colorful Garden-Inspired Wedding
Where it all Began
Cassidy and Dylan met in 2021, when Cassidy was visiting Alton for the summer – as she did every year since she was a child. This summer, she joined the local gym, Alton Village Fitness. Dylan happens to own that very gym, and while Cassidy noticed how handsome he was, the summer came and went without much further connection between them. The following summer, she returned to her vacation spot (and her favorite gym) for the season, again noticing the handsome owner – but this time they found each other on social media and began to build a connection. They found out they had a lot in common and began dating that summer, but ultimately had to put their relationship on hold when Cassidy returned to college in the Fall. The following summer, Cassidy returned to her home away from home, but this time with the intention to stay in New Hampshire for good. They were able to pick up right where they left off and have remained together ever since.
“The moral of the story is - sign up for that gym membership, and you just might find the love of your life.”
The Proposal
Knowing in her heart that she had found the one, Cassidy sent Dylan a photo she had found online of New Hampshire lupines in bloom as a subtle hint for a future proposal. Dylan managed to locate the exact coordinates of that photo and planned a trip to surprise her there. He devised a plan to tell Cassidy they were taking a trip up north for the weekend, but he drove off course, bringing her straight to that special spot to propose, with her bestie there to witness and capture the moment.
The Vision
One of the first major decisions every engaged couple must make is where they will tie the knot. Cassidy and Dylan have both separate and shared roots in Alton Bay, so it seemed right to celebrate this next step here, in the place where their love story began.
“I loved the barn, the story, and the views! Diane and Sarah were so sweet and easy to work with. It really comforted my decision and planning process.” – Cassidy
Leaning into the importance of choosing not only a space you love, but people you will enjoy working with. We are honored to have been those people for Cassidy and Dylan, and it was truly a pleasure to be a part of their day.
“We pulled inspiration from Pinterest and Instagram. I would say it was a sparkly, whimsical, garden wedding vibe with blue, green, and periwinkle for colors.””
The wedding day
Cassidy & Dylan’s wedding day brought all the magical early-summer garden wedding vibes, and we could not get enough. Their day included many unique touches, including handmade shelves brimming with gorgeous local blooms, board games for their guests to gather and play, a painting station, and a lighted balloon send-off to round out the evening with their nearest and dearest.
Cassidy’s day began by being pampered by the incredible hair & makeup artists from 5 Diamond Salon in our Loft suite, surrounded by all her favorite ladies.
Cassidy and Dylan are local to the area, so Dylan’s day began off-site nearby, getting ready with his favorite guys. He arrived at the venue dapper and ready for the first look and private vow exchange with his stunning bride-to-be.
Many couples decide to do a first look to create a private moment together, ease anxiety, and build in time to capture photos before guests arrive. This often allows couples the ability to spend more time with guests during cocktail hour, which is traditionally when you’d have to sneak away for photos.
The ceremony was a beautiful celebration of family and love. The bride’s grandfather officiated the wedding, adding the sweetest sentimentality to their ceremony.
The wedding party was perfectly coordinated in their wedding colors, featuring a soft periwinkle blue and varying shades of mossy green. The mismatched bridesmaid dresses and varying textures were visually stunning and tied together perfectly with beautiful bouquets by a local favorite flower farm/florist, Winnipesaukee Woods Farm.
During cocktail hour, guests were met with a beverage station, charcuterie boards, indoor and outdoor games and activities, visits with the horses, and incredible vibes all around.
One standout feature of this wedding for us was the unique and beautiful seating chart, which also served as an interactive way for guests to help decorate the dinner tables. The couple brought two shelves and filled them with flowers, creating not only a seating chart but also a colorful focal point. They filled one bud vase for each guest with vibrant local blooms. Guests were instructed to grab the vase with their name and table number on it and bring it to their table, allowing them to claim their seat and help decorate the table all at once.
Other interactive activities that guests truly enjoyed were the painting station and the crossword puzzle. (Both pictured above).
Though Cassidy and Dylan decided to forego the typical dance party, they did not skip the traditional first dance moment.

Dinner kicked off with a handful of incredible speeches given by the newlywed’s nearest and dearest – truly setting a vibe that felt like a big family dinner.
Cassidy and Dylan love a good game night (don’t we all?) As you can see, that interactive theme was woven throughout the day. After dinner, guests were invited back downstairs to enjoy cake and tables full of board games. This step away from the typical dance party invited their guests to talk, connect, and laugh together into the evening.
When it came time for the day to come to an end, we brought all the guests outside to set up for a balloon send-off while Cassidy & Dylan shared a private last dance inside the barn. One more special moment for the two of them to have all to themselves.
When their dance was through, the couple was met by a runway of their loved ones holding lighted balloons leading to their getaway car. A stunning way to end such a truly special day.
“I loved the send-off! The whole day was incredible. Every detail was amazing, but the send-off ended up looking so beautiful. I’m just in awe...””
Something we truly love to see at weddings is when couples aren’t afraid to shake tradition and truly make the day their own. Cassidy and Dylan did things their own way, and we absolutely loved being part of it. From their creative seating chart and game night tables to the lighted balloon send-off, we loved supporting their vision and helping create the day they dreamed of.
Advice from Cassidy & Dylan for future couples
“Don’t leave DIYs until the last minute.”
“Incorporating items to have multiple uses was so helpful! Our seating chart became our centerpieces, and our bouquets were repurposed as décor for the reception.”
We wholeheartedly agree with both insights. If you are getting married at Cold Spring Farm, our Event Manager is always happy to help repurpose items throughout the day - saving you money, time, and effort!
“We loved all of our vendors! All of them were easy to work with and seemed to work seamlessly with Sarah (Coordinator), as well.”
